The debut EP from The Disappointments, "Raw Head and Bloody Bones" was completely funded by the band and recorded at Carter Recording Company in Chicago, IL. The picture on the cover is an actual photo from Betsy Layne, Kentucky, with Matt's family sitting on the sidewalk leading up to their house. The family used to tell the kids that a monster named Raw Head and Bloody Bones lived up in the attic to keep them from going up there to play.
